Movie 30: Silence of the Lambs

Sometimes I think our world would be... better... with more people like Hannibal Lecter. I know it sounds weird but I believe that sometimes Hannibal's brand of cold and unyielding logic is the most effective way to process and analyze information. Without fear, emotion, or feeling there is so much that can be accomplished. This movie is a classic not because everyone says it is (they do), it is not good because it is popular (it is), and it isn't a work of art because that's what the other critics say (I honestly don't give half a flying fuck what the critics say). This movie is a masterpiece because of excellent acting, excellent directing, excellent script writing, and an excellent look into both the complex and the primal constructs of the human mind. From the basic emotions and fear that Clarice remembers as a child, to the elaborate manipulation of the doctor, the raw power of the human mind is on full display in this mind-bending American classic.
